IBD Support Network
Support groups offer very valuable contact with others who share a common illness experience. Mount Sinai Hospital's IBD Support groups are both peer and professionally facilitated.
Daytime Support Group
This is a daytime support group for people whose lives have been affected by inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis. This group takes place at Mount Sinai Hospital in the 14th floor classroom and meets for one and a half hours in the afternoon.
The co-facilitators are Sabine Finkenauer, the new social worker, Brenda O'Connor RN, Department of Surgery, one of our IBD Support Network Steering Committee members and a social worker.
IBD Support Group - Daytime
This is a daytime support group for people whose lives have been severely affected by inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis. This group will take place at Mount Sinai Hospital in the 14th floor classroom and will meet for one and a half hour in the afternoon.

This evening meeting offers educational talks and informal networking opportunities for people with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease.
IBD Support Nework - Evening
Our evening groups, featuring educational talks and informal peer support discussions for individuals living with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, take place on the last Monday of the months September, November, January, March and May, unless otherwise noted. Family and friends are also welcome to attend.

The IBD Support Network is organized by a volunteer patient/family steering committee with participation from health professionals.
Community Support Groups
Many local chapters of the Crohn's and Colitis Canada offer monthly educational talks. These are not intended to be support groups, but there is often opportunity for informal discussion and to make new contacts after the talks.

Affiliated with the United Ostomy Association, Ostomy Toronto has a monthly program of education and discussion.
